When you report a bug, tell us your phone (iPhone or Android), the version of the app and what happened, with the place and time if it was on the road. A detailed trip log helps us find a bug. You switch it on in your profile; it stays on your phone until you share it yourself.
BlitzBuddy is made by SN Web, Tolgaarderwaard 39 A, 6846 EW Arnhem, the Netherlands.
In which countries does BlitzBuddy warn about speed cameras?
In the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and Türkiye, the app warns about fixed speed cameras, red light cameras and average speed checks. In other countries, including Switzerland, speed camera warnings are off.
The law differs per country. In Germany, § 23 (1c) StVO forbids drivers to use speed camera warnings; switch them off there under Profile, Warnings. In France, the law only allows warnings for danger zones; using the warnings there is your own responsibility. More in the terms of use.
Why does BlitzBuddy ask for my location?
The app needs your location, speed and direction to warn you about what is coming up on your road. With "While Using the App", it warns you while it is open. With "Always" (iPhone) or "Allow all the time" (Android), it also warns you when the screen is off or another app is open, and it can start by itself when you start driving.
Other drivers only see your reports, never your name or your route. You choose the access in the settings of your phone and can change it at any time. What we do with your location is in the privacy policy.
Does BlitzBuddy work with CarPlay and Android Auto?
Yes. Connect your phone to your car and BlitzBuddy shows on your car's screen, with the map, the warnings and your route. You hear the warnings through your car's speakers.
Don't see BlitzBuddy on your car's screen? Open the app once on your phone and allow location access. On iPhone, you can pick your car and arrange the apps under Settings, General, CarPlay. Set everything up before you start driving.
How do I report something?
Tap the report button and choose what you see: a speed camera, police, an accident, a jam, an object on the road or a broken-down vehicle. You can also tap the microphone and say it. Only report when it is safe. Otherwise, let a passenger do it.
Other drivers see your report without your name. Sometimes the app asks whether something is still there; you answer with a large button that disappears by itself if you do nothing. Only report what you really see.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Profile, "Delete account". We then delete your account and your trips at once. Your reports still count for other drivers for a while, without being linked to you. To delete only your trips, go to Profile, Privacy, "Delete all trips".
Not signed in, or no longer have the app? Email [email protected] from the email address of your account. See also Delete your account.
Does BlitzBuddy cost anything?
No. BlitzBuddy is free, without ads and without a subscription.
Are the warnings always right?
We do our best, but we cannot guarantee it. The data comes from OpenStreetMap, government lists, Lufop.net and reports from drivers. A camera can be new or gone, and the limit in the app can differ from the signs. Road signs and instructions from the police always come before the app. If you see a mistake, email us, ideally with the place.
