1. Who we are

BlitzBuddy is offered by SN Web, a sole proprietorship in the Netherlands.

Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: 64636461. Address: Tolgaarderwaard 39 A, 6846 EW Arnhem.

Contact: [email protected]. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your personal data.

2. What BlitzBuddy is

BlitzBuddy warns you about speed cameras, average speed checks, jams, roadworks and hazards on the road. The app uses public data, OpenStreetMap and reports from drivers.

BlitzBuddy is free. There are no ads in the app. If we ever offer paid features, you will see the price and the conditions first. You never pay unless you buy something yourself in the App Store or on Google Play.

You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

3. You are responsible while driving

  • BlitzBuddy is an aid. You remain responsible for how you drive.
  • Keep to the speed limits and the traffic rules. Traffic signs and instructions from the police always come before the app.
  • Set up the app before you drive. Do not hold or operate your phone while driving. Use a phone holder, the voice function, CarPlay or Android Auto.
  • Never make a report when it is not safe to do so.

4. No guarantee on warnings

We do our best to keep warnings correct and up to date. We cannot guarantee this.

Warnings can be missing, late, outdated or wrong. The speed limit in the app can differ from the signs along the road. Reports from drivers are not checked by a person before you see them. The app can sometimes be unavailable, for example because of a failure or maintenance.

Never rely on the app alone.

5. Camera warnings and the law

The rules on camera warnings differ per country. We offer speed camera warnings only in some countries. In other countries they are switched off. In France, the app warns of fixed speed cameras, red-light cameras and section cameras at their exact location; drivers' reports of speed checks and police are off there.

In Germany, § 23 (1c) of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) forbids drivers to use a function that warns of speed checks. If you drive in Germany, switch off "Speed cameras", "Average speed checks" and "Police" under Profile, Warnings.

In France, Article R413-15 of the Code de la route only allows warnings for danger zones, not for the exact location of a speed camera. If you drive in France, using the speed camera warnings is your own responsibility. You can switch them off under Profile, Warnings: "Speed cameras" and "Average speed checks".

In Türkiye, Article 51 of Road Traffic Law No. 2918 forbids devices that detect speed checks or warn the driver about them. It is unclear whether this also applies to apps.

You are responsible for using the app in line with the law of the country where you drive.

6. Reporting fairly

  • Only report what you really see on the road.
  • Do not make false or misleading reports. Do not try to collect karma unfairly, for example with several accounts.
  • Do not use BlitzBuddy to harass, follow or harm other people.
  • Do not misuse our service, for example with automated requests, and do not try to get around our limits.

We can refuse, hide or delete reports. We can lower karma. If you misuse the service, we can block or delete your account.

7. Karma

Karma is an internal score for how reliable your reports are. Our server calculates karma and uses it to decide how much weight your reports get. Other users do not see your karma. Karma has no money value. You cannot sell or transfer it. We can correct or reset karma, for example after abuse or an error.

8. Your account

You can use BlitzBuddy without signing in. The app then creates an account without a name or email address for you. You are responsible for the account you sign in with.

You can delete your account at any time in the app, under Profile, "Delete account". We can suspend or end your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop BlitzBuddy.

9. Our rights and sources

The app, its design and the name BlitzBuddy belong to SN Web. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License. Other sources and licences are listed in the app under Profile, "Sources and licences".

When you make a report, you allow us to use it in BlitzBuddy and to show it to other drivers.

10. Liability

BlitzBuddy is free and is provided as it is. As far as Dutch law allows, we are not liable for damage caused by using the app, or by warnings that are missing, late or wrong. This includes fines, accidents and loss of time.

This does not limit our liability for damage caused by intent or deliberate recklessness of SN Web. It also does not limit the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

11. App stores

If you got BlitzBuddy from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If you got it from Google Play, the Google Play terms also apply. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for BlitzBuddy.

12. Changes

We may change the app and these terms. The date and version at the top show the current version. We will tell you clearly about important changes before they apply, for example in the app. If you do not agree, you can stop using BlitzBuddy and delete your account. We may change, pause or stop parts of the service.

13. Law and disputes

Dutch law applies to these terms. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you can also go to the court there.

Questions or complaints? Email [email protected]. We will first look for a solution together.

These terms exist in five languages. If the language versions differ, the Dutch version applies.
